Experience powerful personal growth through guided interactions with horses in the natural beauty of the Sierra’s.

At Tahoe Reins, we offer trauma-informed experiential programs designed to help individuals build confidence, develop emotional awareness, strengthen relationships, and reconnect with themselves through meaningful work with horses.

No riding experience is required. Our work happens primarily on the ground, where horses naturally mirror human emotions and behaviors, creating opportunities for powerful insight and transformation.

Grounded in Nature. Guided by horses.

Discover the Power of Horses

Horses have an extraordinary ability to sense human emotion and intention.

Through guided experiences with horses, participants develop deeper self-awareness, emotional resilience, nervous system regulation, stronger communication skills, and greater confidence.

At Tahoe Reins, we offer experiential programs designed to help individuals and groups grow, heal, and reconnect through meaningful interactions with horses.

What Is Equine Assisted Learning?

Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is an experiential approach that uses interactions with horses to help people develop life skills, emotional awareness, and personal growth.

Horses are incredibly sensitive to human body language and emotion. They respond honestly and immediately, which helps participants recognize patterns, build self-awareness, and develop healthier ways of communicating and relating to others.

Heather created Tahoe Reins out of a lifelong love of horses and a deep belief in their ability to help people grow and heal.

Over the years, Heather has experienced the powerful connection that can form between humans and horses. She has seen how horses naturally reflect our emotions and behaviors, offering honest feedback that helps people develop greater self-awareness, confidence, and trust.

As a mother, horsewoman, and nature lover, Heather is passionate about creating experiences that bring people back to what matters most—connection, presence, and authenticity.

Through Tahoe Reins, she hopes to offer a space where people can slow down, learn from horses, and rediscover their own strength and resilience.

“The lessons horses have taught me about trust, resilience, and presence are lessons I now feel compelled to share with others”
